LUXE MICROBLADING

LUXE MICROBLADING/ NANOBLADING - PERMANENT MAKE UP

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing that involves using a fine blade that deposits pigment into the skin to imitate the appearance of natural hair strokes. The bespoke pigment mix and techniques applied are designed to create a seamless blend with the existing eyebrow hair colour, length and growth pattern. This form of permanent make up results in ultra-defined, natural and fuller looking eyebrows, with long-term results.

Microblading is the perfect treatment for anyone with sparse, fair or a lack of eyebrow growth, but it is particularly beneficial for those suffering with alopecia, and other conditions that cause hair loss.

The initial stage of the Microblading process is a consultation, whereby our Luxe Brow Expert will discuss your requirements in great detail with you. A compulsory skin sensitivity/ patch test will also be carried out 24-48 hours before the stage that the Microblading procedure is performed.

The final stage of the process requires you to return for a retouch within 4-6 weeks to balance the healed eyebrow results. The outcome can last up to 12-18 months, depending on varied factors. However, retouches are recommended each year to maintain the shape and saturation of pigment.

Please note prior to booking that you should have at least an 80% fade if you have existing cosmetic tattooing on your brows from another practitioner.

LUXE MICROBLADING/ NANOBLADING - PRE AND AFTERCARE

PREPARING FOR YOUR MICROBLADING PROCEDURE

In order to achieve great results from your Microblading procedure, we ask that you follow some simple guidelines to ensure your skin and eyebrows are healthy, non-sensitive, non-irritated and prepared for treatment.

  • Do not tweeze, thread or wax your eyebrows or undergo electrolysis within one week of the procedure.
  • Avoid tanning and sunburn two weeks prior to the procedure.
  • Do not undergo face peels or Botox treatments within three weeks of the procedure.
  • Discontinue use of Retinol and Vitamin A products one month ahead of the procedure.
  • Do not take fish oil, Vitamin E or any other natural blood thinners within one week of the procedure.
  • Do not consume alcohol 24-48 hours before the procedure.
  • Do not consume coffee on the day of the procedure.
  • Do not exercise on the day of the procedure.
  • Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen for pain relief on the day of the procedure, as this thins the blood.

MICROBLADING AFTERCARE ADVICE

After your Microblading treatment, it is possible to experience tenderness, swelling, redness, dryness, itchiness and flaking on your eyebrows. This is normal and is part of the healing process. Please also be aware that your colour will appear up to 50% darker but it will fade over 4-7 days and it may take up to 4 weeks before the true colour will come through following your initial treatment. A retouch is required between 4-6 weeks after your first treatment and maintenance is recommended every 12-18 months according to your individual needs.

Initially after your procedure:

  • Avoid getting your eyebrows wet for 7 days. Use a gentle cleanser for your face, avoiding the eyebrows. However, if for any reason they do get wet, pat them dry with a clean towel or tissue. Do not wipe or rub them.

  • Apply a thin layer of the moisturising balm daily for 7 days (if recommended), at least twice a day using a clean cotton bud. Ensure that you wash your hands before and after doing so.

  • Allow any scabbing and dry skin to naturally fall away. Do not scratch, rub or pick your eyebrows, as this could lead to uneven healing, scarring or infection.

  • Do not apply topical make up to the treated area for 7 days.

  • Avoid hot steamy showers/ baths, swimming and activities that involve excessive sweating for 7 days.

  • It is only advised to apply Vaseline to your eyebrows after 7 days as a protector if you plan to use chlorinated swimming pools or Jacuzzis.

  • Do not expose your eyebrows to extreme heat or cold for 7 days.

  • Keep your hair away from your eyebrows during the first 2 days to avoid infection.

  • Sleep with a clean pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face for 10 days.

  • Do not undergo facial, chemical, microdermabrasion or Botox treatments for four weeks.

  • Delay donating blood for at least 6 months following your treatment. You must inform the National Blood Service of your treatment date when you next give blood.

  • Contact Luxe Lashes London immediately if any unexpected irritation or discomfort is experienced.

Going forward:

  • Use at least SPF30 sunscreen or moisturiser and avoid excess exposure to UV rays to avoid pigment fade.

  • Inform your Laser Technician of your permanent make up so that they can act accordingly, as Laser hair removal can fade or change the shade of your eyebrows.

  • Inform your Radiologist of your permanent make up if you need to have a MRI scan, as this can sometimes appear on scans.
